چکیده
Heart failure is one of the principal causes morbidity and mortality in children. Treatment techniques may not work, heart transplantation be required as a result. The current state donor-organ supply means that many patients cannot undergo transplantation. In these patients, ventricular assist devices (VADs) used to bridge time until Continuous-flow VADs are increasingly being implanted paediatric patients. aim this study was evaluate cardiac function children supported with Heartware HVAD, HeartMate2 HeartMate3 using computational simulations. A lumped-parameter model simulating around 12 years age simulate dilated cardiomyopathy heart-pump support. operating speeds were selected 2600 rpm, 8700 rpm 5200 constant speed, respectively, while Lavare cycle artificial-pulse modes generate mean pump outputs at 4.40 L/min arterial pressures 82 mmHg each device. Aortic pulse pressure 11 mmHg, 14 6 under support, respectively. HVAD’s HeartMate3’s artificial increased aortic 15 20 mmHg. mode more beneficial reducing arterial-pulsatility-associated problems.

Comparison of left ventricular geometry after HeartMate II and HeartWare left ventricular assist device implantation
BACKGROUND HeartMate II (HM II) and HeartWare (HW) Left Ventricular Assist Devices have been successfully used in end-stage heart failure patients as a bridge to transplantation, recovery, or decision. We set out to compare their effect in off-loading the left ventricle and its geometry. METHODS The left ventricular end diastolic (LVEDD) and end systolic (LVESD) diameters were compared betwee...

BACKGROUND The HeartWare ventricular assist device (HVAD) is a new generation centrifugal flow VAD recently introduced in Canada. The objective of this study was to compare the HVAD device to the HeartMate II (HMII) axial flow device. Very few studies have compared clinical outcomes between newer generation VADs. METHODS All perioperative and follow-up data on LVAD recipients were collected p...

متن کاملSurgical technique influences HeartMate II left ventricular assist device thrombosis.
BACKGROUND Thrombosis of the HeartMate II (HM2 [Thoratec Corporation, Pleasanton, CA]) is a potentially devastating complication. While attention has been focused on anticoagulation strategies to prevent this complication, the impact of surgical technique has not been assessed. METHODS Patients undergoing HM2 implantation at two institutions were reviewed. Pump thrombosis (PT) was defined as ...
